  • remember, to complete a square, you take half of b and square it

  • for example, if b=10, then half of b would be 5 and 5 squared is 25

  • if b=2/3, then half of 2/3 would be 2 times 1 (numerator) over 3 times 2 (denominator) which would be equal to 2 over 6 or 1/3. 1/3 squared would be 1 squared over 3 squared which is equal to 1/9
