2.3 Slope-Interecept Form

Write the equation of a line in Slope-Intercept Form if given the following information.

  1. m = 3/4 (5, 7)

  2. m = - 2/3 (- 10, 4)

  3. m = 7/5 ( - 2, 6)

  4. m = 5/6 (- 10, 11)

  5. m = - 3/8 (- 4, 5)

  6. m = - 1/7 (6, 8)

  7. (10, 7) (18, 4)

  8. (15, - 12) (2, - 5)

  9. (- 3, - 4) (- 15, 6)

  10. (2, 7) (- 8, 3)

how to write the equation of a line in slope-intercept form:

1. write point-slope form: y-y1 = m(x-x1)

2. substitute x1 and y1 with a point on the line.

3. substitute m (you might have to caluculate it yourself. if you do, use the slope formula from aim 1)

4. write out slope-intercept form (y = mx + b)

5. solve for y.
