Standard Form & Graphing

Write the equation of a line in:

a) point-slope form; (when doing this form, please use the FIRST given point!)

b) slope-intercept form and

c) standard form

(YES, i want you to write out ALL 3 forms!) if it contains:

  1. (-3,-4) and (7,12)

  2. (-5, 2) and (-8, 10)

  3. (8, -9) and (1,-3)

  4. (-3,-8) and (-9,-2)

  5. (11, 6) and (-2, 1)

Graph the following equations: (if you don't have graph paper, you can download some from the Home page of my website). Make sure you LABEL your points!

6. y-5=2/5 (x+3)

7. y+2 = -3/2 (x-4)

8. y=5/3x -5

9. y = -3/7 x + 4

10. y = x + 1

11. y = x

12. x = 3

13. y = -2

14. 3x - 2y = 6

15. 10x + 5y =10

16. 4x + 3y = -8 (hint hint: one of the intercepts is ugly so you will have to find the slope and use the slope to graph the second point)

17. 2x - 5y = 15 (hint hint: one of the intercepts is ugly so you will have to find the slope and use the slope to graph the second point)
